17steps asked: Primes!

2) If you could meet anyone on this earth, who would it be?
On the earth right now?! Brian Eno has been at the top of my list since I was twelve, but to meet Archy Marshall, Common, Macklemore, Morgan Freeman, Aubrey Graham, Will Wiesenfeld, Richard D. James or Stephen Fry would be very cool too.

3) Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 23, give me line 17.
His father grinned at Jim. “It has to be done.” (from a New Zealand school journal, part 1 number 1, 1972)

5) What does your latest text message from someone else say?
“Yup hopefully”

7) What’s your strangest talent?
It’s a tie between perfect pitch and the ability to ‘make Spock jump’ - ask me to demonstrate the latter in video form someday as it’s very difficult to explain.

11) Do you have any strange phobias?
Sunfish. It’s more of an extremely fearful reverence, and the same reason I’m scared of great grey owls.

13) What’s your religion?
One could define me as a Christian for the sake of simplicity. I believe faith and religion are separate entities and while religion may facilitate faith, religion is not necessary to acquire or maintain faith.

17) What was the last lie you told?
“No, I don’t want to come out and smoke homegrown nicotine-free tobacco with you.” (That stuff smells amazing.)

19) What does your URL mean?
hyenas - plural noun - doglike African mammals with forelimbs that are longer than the hind limbs and erect manes (Bizarre fun fact: hyenas are actually more closely related to felines than canines. Also female spotted hyenas have pretend penises lol.)

23) How do you vent your anger?
By simmering and snapping at people outside of the matter, which I dislike about myself. Sometimes I write, but I rarely confront people.

29) Do you believe in ghosts? How about aliens?
I believe that both ghosts and aliens are manifestations of demons, and are assigned to deceive people. Ghosts have the ability to assume any humanoid or animal form, and are also able to act in the same manner as your dead relatives etc.

31) Smell the air. What do you smell?
Me (I had work today and I smell) and my unfinished bag of cola rollers (not the candy, but the bag it’s in)

37) Do you believe in luck?
No, in fact I resent it. I believe in blessings.

41) What was the last book you read?
I recently re-read Tim Winton’s The Turning, one of my favourites ever.

43) Do you have any nicknames?
Gracie, though very few people use it. I like it very much though, if used by the right person. I also have Gee-race, an affectionate name given to me by some of my brother’s friends. Online I occasionally get called Baxter.

47) Do you have any obsessions right now?
David Bowie’s ‘Subterraneans’; This Is England, 86 & 88; King Krule’s self-titled EP.

53) Do you save money or spend it?
I’m a bit of a stinge when it comes to myself. I love to be thrifty, so I’d rather save.

61) Are you wearing socks right now?
Nuu.

59) Where were you yesterday?
City apartment, then movie theatre, then back home.

67) What were you doing last night at 12 AM?
Getting to know someone, asking lots of questions. It was nice.

71) You are walking down the street on your way to work. There is a dog drowning in the canal on the side of the street. Your boss has told you if you are late one more time you get fired. What do you do?
Produce video evidence for my boss that I am saving a dog, whilst saving the dog, and hoping for the best.

73) You can only have one of these things; trust or love.
Love.

79) What is the single best decision you have made in your life so far?
Probably to switch schools at the end of 4th form. I think I would be a very different person if I had stayed where I was, and not in a good way either.

83) Give me the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word; heart.
The way that sometimes you can see people’s pulses in their neck, or the beat itself on someone’s chest. It always reminds me how fragile we are.

89) What would be a question you’d be afraid to tell the truth on?
‘What is your biggest regret?’

97) Have you ever thrown up in the car?
There have been many close calls. As I’ve gotten older, my carsickness has grown worse.
